ADİL KARAİSMAİLOĞLU - MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND INFRASTRUCTURE

He graduated from Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Engineering as a Mechanical Engineer. He completed his master's degree in Urban Systems and Transportation Management program in Bahçeşehir University.

In 1995, he started his first duty at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Directorate. He worked as engineer and manager in Istanbul Municipality Electricity, Tramway and Tunnel General Directorate (IETT). While he was working as Assistant Manager at IMM Traffic Directorate, he was appointed to Transportation Coordination Directorate in 2009. In 2014, he was appointed as the Head of Transportation Department.

While he was in these positions, he contributed to the realization of many projects such as Istanbul Transportation Master Plan, parking lot, public transportation, logistics, traffic safety master plans, traffic control center, transportation management center, IMM mobile traffic, IMM guided mobile applications.

Again in this period; by creating a Rail System Investment Plan covering whole Istanbul, 1,100 km of rail system survey, feasibility and project studies have been completed, roads, tunnels and junctions have been planned to improve the road infrastructure by managing a 35 thousand km road network. A bicycle sharing system was launched by planning a 1050 km cycle path. Squares and pedestrian roads were implemented throughout Istanbul.

At the beginning of 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary General responsible for Transportation, Environment and Technology investments in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In July 2019, he left his office voluntarily.

In September 2019, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

He was appointed Minister of Transport and Infrastructure with the Presidential Decree published on March 28, 2020.

Adil Karaismailoğlu, who was born on 19.05.1969, is married and has 2 children.
